How we handle public browsing, optional analytics and University Desk enquiries, and the choices you have.

On-device checklist and search

If you choose Save in the university verification tool, check marks and the recheck date remain in this browser's local storage. There is no account, synchronization or upload. Use Delete saved data in the tool, or clear this site's data in your browser. Avoid saving on a shared device and take care with history and printouts.

The Search page for articles and universities runs on this device. The query and type travel after # in the address for language switching. That part is not sent in HTTP requests, but can appear in copied links, bookmarks, browser history or screen sharing. Do not enter personal information; use Reset to clear it.

The university directory and comparison pages keep names, filters and selected record IDs in URL query parameters. Opening or sharing those addresses sends the query to the hosting service, where it may appear in communications logs. Do not enter personal information. The deadline planner keeps entries in the current tab only, without analytics, account, automatic saving or server submission. Leaving or refreshing clears it. Downloaded files and printouts remain with you; importing them into a cloud calendar shares their contents with that provider.

Separation

Uni News Korea does not read or share LaborMap account, cookie, analytics identifier, payment, consultation, or job-seeking data.

Hosting and security logs

Cloudflare may process communications logs such as IP address, request time, browser, and device information to provide and secure the static site. Uni News Korea does not create a member, comment, newsletter, or independent person-level analytics database.

Optional Google Analytics

From October 10, 2026, analytics consent version 2 requires a fresh optional choice, including visitors who allowed the earlier version. Google receives public page paths, broad referral sources, predefined campaign codes, device/browser information and interaction events. An IP address is transmitted with the request. Form input, raw query strings, fragments and private pages are excluded. Operator browsers can be excluded using a local setting without an internal IP list. Advertising, Google Signals, User-ID and cross-site identity sharing are disabled. Cookies last up to 30 days and event data 14 months, without resetting on a new visit. Your choice lasts 180 days and can be withdrawn through Analytics preferences at the bottom of the page. GPC and Do Not Track disable analytics. All content remains available when you reject it.

Contact-link clicks mean intent, not a completed enquiry, application, placement or sale. Google may process information internationally; see its privacy policy.

University Desk request data

Effective October 14, 2026. The controller is the business operating Uni News Korea; see About. Contact editor@uninews.kr for privacy questions, access, correction, deletion or withdrawal. We use your reference and reply address to verify a request; do not send identity documents.

Consent to collection and use

Purpose: receiving, classifying, reviewing and answering the information update, story, production, career collaboration or other enquiry you request, and preventing duplicates and abuse. Required: request type, institution, department or role, reply email, message, language, notice version agreed to and receipt time. The selected purpose may require a target page or material/collaboration type. Optional: public source links, event/preferred dates, programme and intake. Do not submit student records, identity documents, health information, confidential documents or another person's personal information.

We also retain a reference, status, reply and handoff history. There is no registration, marketing or newsletter consent. Request text is not automatically sent to consumer AI. Declining consent prevents online submission but does not affect public content. Contact us first for an alternative; email also uses Lark as described below.

Retention and deletion

Closed enquiries are deleted at the earlier of 90 days after closure or 180 days after receipt. Spam is deleted within 14 days of closure. Open cases are reviewed every 30 days; at 180 days we review closure, minimization or a documented exceptional need to retain them. Any legal or dispute-related extension has a separate reason and period. Duplicate-prevention and abuse hashes last up to 24 hours; settings audit records last 30 days. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the enquiry database.

Operators separately delete correspondence under the same business retention rules. Database deletion does not delete mail. Lark Trash empties within 30 days; rights-request deletion requires separate verification of permanent removal. D1 recovery history may retain earlier data for up to 30 days. During recovery we pause intake and reapply a separate encrypted deletion journal before using restored data. This journal contains no request text or email; database deletion markers are removed after at least 45 days once external storage is acknowledged.

Separate consent to service providers and overseas processing

Submitting sends the necessary information to the following services through encrypted internet connections. Do not proceed if you decline this processing. Contact editor@uninews.kr for an alternative or to withdraw. Delivered messages are also processed by the recipient's mail provider.

Request and operator screens exclude optional visitor analytics. There is no form autosave, file upload or public enquiry lookup. Only authorized operators with multi-factor authentication can view requests. A receipt does not guarantee a correction, publication, contract or response deadline.
