Source of record
We downloaded the 18 March 2026 edition of the National University and College Standard Data file from Korea's Public Data Portal on 5 September 2026 KST. We pinned the SHA-256 of the original CP949 bytes and the schema before projecting only the minimum fields needed for the public product.
What one record means
We keep each source row as an independent record. The dataset includes universities and junior colleges as well as general, professional, and special graduate schools and campus records. We do not merge similar names automatically, and we do not describe the result count as the total number of universities in Korea.
Automated quality checks
- Only the registered data.go.kr dataset ID and HTTPS catalog source are accepted.
- The byte length, SHA-256, CP949 decoding, 20 columns, and 1,995 rows must reproduce exactly.
- Unsafe or unparseable website values are not turned into links.
- Korean and English pages use the same entity ID, source snapshot, dates, and facts.
- Raw files, quality reports, and quarantined data are excluded from the public artifact tree.
What this dataset cannot establish
- Current application rules, eligibility, deadlines, or required documents
- Tuition, scholarships, housing availability, or actual living costs
- Educational quality, accreditation, reputation, employment outcomes, or student satisfaction
- Admission chances, visa outcomes, or a personal recommendation
How to make a final check
Recheck basic details on the institution's official website. Make admission, visa, and administrative decisions from the institution's latest notice and the responsible government authority. No result does not mean that an institution is absent or problematic.
Errors and corrections
If a name, address, or link appears outdated, contact our corrections desk. We preserve the source and apply evidence-bound overrides or a later snapshot instead of silently rewriting the raw record.
